StoryTelling, What is it?
This is an art as old as the hills, to be able to hold forth with local tales, speak about old legends, make people laugh or cry, hold there attention as you build to the climax.
Round a camp fire, in a class room, to the background of a crowded pub, even in the street as folk wander past. I have told stories that amuse and teach often at the same time.
Storytelling is a sympathetic magic that gathers people and helps them recapture some of the social chemistry that is sometimes lost in endless repeats of popcorn entertainment.
If you would like an idea of the types of sets we have done so far:
The Pirate Set: Tales of the Seven Seas, piracy through the ages and the old wives' tales of smugglers and sailors.
The Vikings: Norse legends of their misbehaving deities and ancient heroes, lays that carry the weight of ages on their hoary backs.
The Social Medley: For pubs and general entertainment at festivals etc. This is a fun selection to make folk laugh and relax.
Costs: This depends entirely on the group etc. so get in touch and we will have a chat about the costs and what you can expect.
"I have seen Gideon keep a room full of adults enthralled as he regaled them with the tales of Loki and the Norse gods. At points they and I were almost in tears of laughter. Gideon knows how to read the room and make sure that everyone feels part of the tale"
