Prop Fighting Workshops What is it?
Over the years, I have done reenactment, western martial arts and even Live Action Role Play.
I've fought with knife, broadsword, axe, spear, etc. etc.
I've trained both formally and in the rugged skirmish of folk in the dark, armed with everything from longswords and shields to broken bottles.
Luckily, most of these dire sounding objects have been props. However, it has given me an excellent background in helping people have a fun time learning everything from the basic of classic sword fighting, to knife in the gut hullabaloo.
All in the safe knowledge that nothing they are getting hit with is real.
The sword fight, the tournament and the melee are classic ways to run about, having fun and getting fit. There are a variety of ways that we can help you enjoy doing this.
Historical Tactics: The psychology of the sword, tactics of the Saxons, Romans, etc. why they worked and why they were flawed, including a chat about famous battles that these tactics where used at and safe reenactments of them for the participants.
The General Training day: Learning everything from simple safe sword use, to skirmishing, knife fighting, spears, bows, shield walls and wide games that involve hitting your friends.
Cost: Approx £160
Personal Training: For 1-5 people, a more formal turn at following the skills needed, be it spear, sword, knife etc. All safely trained for your future as a reenactor or larper, or just for general fitness. It helps with balance, poise and timing. (As well as witticisms if that is the sort of thing you need).
Cost: £50 an hour, (hall expenses may differ)
